The Inky has launched another blog, Dick Polman's American Debate. I can't recall ever reading any of his work in the Inquirer, but his really long bio on the front page of the blog gives a tome-ish recap of how he got where he is today.
And in keeping with Philly.com's reluctance to put any design effort whatsoever into their blogs [aside from Attytood and to a lesser extent Blinq with ads] they've gone with another freebie Blogspot site. I know that they're short on money, but they've already got a domain in philly.com, just add a sub. And they've GOT to have shitloads of server space and bandwidth, siphon off a teensy bit! And WordPress is free free free as in air and if you're Haliburton, money.
I've seen his name in bylines though here and there and I always think it's a fake name. Dick Pole Man. Come on. That's better than Dirk Diggler!
Three posts up so far and so far I've learned from the comments that now First Lady Bush accidentally killed her then high school classmate Michael Dutton Douglas in a car accident.
Seems like he'll be covering national politics, but he also covered the beat for the Phillies, was a London based correspondent and was a columnist up in Hartford so he's been around and I doubt will leave us in a dry spell for long if ever.
Welcome to the blog block Mr. Dick Polman. I think your blogroll needs more girth.
Hi Albert,
Wish you could post this to a certain mail list.... pretty please :)
Good stuff.
