That sucker's gonna be thiry-one stories tall. The view of The Drake [my favorite looking apartment building], which you can still see right behind the crane, will most likely be completely obscured from the south-east, too bad. There's probably more construction/building photography to come with this new wide angle lens, but I'm not the expert Brad over at PhillySkyline.com has The Skinny on all things structural. I'm just here for the ride. No perspective correction on this photo [hence the trapezoidal shape].
This new condo building is at Broad & Spruce Sts.
A PW article about the condos from October 2004.
Before the Kimmel Center was built, there was a building there that completely blocked the view of The Drake from the East. I never realized what The Drake looked like until the building was demolished.

Damn.. the Kimmel Center people must be pissed.. that sucker will competely block the Southern view from their multi-million dollar rooftop garden.
Kenny Gamble's on their board, isn't he?

Thanks for sharing the photos. I don’t get to Philly much, so I’ll have to see the progress through your blog. There is similar apartment building going up in New Brunswick, NJ with about 27 floors. Once they got going, the upper floors went quick. Who knows, maybe this one will look nice and complement the Drake.
