SEPTA doesn't have to be a scary place. Sometimes, it doesn't smell like garbage. Sometimes there isn't gum on your seat. Sometimes you get the window seat. Sometimes the train is quiet. Sometimes, you grab the cool booth seat isolated from everyone else with a big window and room to put up your feet.
I discovered the booth seat on my trip home to NY over Thanksgiving. This shot is from my trip back to Philly over Christmas. It looks romantic, warm, comforting. But it could also be isolated, lonely, bare. Take it like you see it.
I'm not sure of the purpose of these booths, but I like 'em.
