Just like the Dems in charge in PA in the Senate race, the Republicans in charge don't want a contested primary in the Governor's race to unseat Democrat Ed Rendell [who was part of the group trying to shut out Democratic contenders for Senate]. Former Lt. Gov. Bill Scranton called on the Republican State Committee to not endorse a candidate in the race.
But only three hours later, party officials denied Scranton's request, saying the endorsement would allow them to focus on raising enough money to defeat Gov. Rendell, not getting bogged down in a competitive primary race.
What's with all the fuss about non-contested primaries? Flush out the details. Jeez.
What the fuck does Lynn Swann stand for anyways? Besides making a big catch in a football game. Has he ever come out publically on some issue? I'm new to PA so I may just don't know. But I really haven't heard a peep from in my nineteen months here in PA. Not that I know who Scanton is either.
