My walk to the train station and from the train station to my office was met by un-plowed streets and un-shoveled sidewalks.
Many slips and slides along the way, but I made it without splitting my head open. I almost did split my head open when I was about ten years old walking on an icy hilly road. Slipped while walking down the steep road and cracked my head on the ice behind me after being suspended a solid three feet in the air. Huge concentric circles spiraled from the impact spot in the ice. I just layed there for a minute in pain. I felt the back of my head, no blood. I also had a deck of cards in a pocket of my backpack, apparently the zipper was undone. Fifty-two card pickup all over the road. Dammit.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't crack my head open on my walk back from work.
Hey, Albert. Maybe you should wear one of thos pilot helmets so you don't break your crown.

grrrrr...don't these people realize it's illegal to not shovel your sidewalk? my landlord has so far neglected to do ours, despite me calling and emailing. i even offered to do it myself if he provided the shovel and salt. no dice.

every winter, i wait for someone in a wheelchair or on crutches to sue this city. is is impossible to get around. today, i followed two old ladies who could barely walk on the unshoveled sidewalk. the sidewalk was next to an elderly apartment complex. yikes.
