I got my Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8ED back form Melville, NY, Nikon's repair shop, tonight. When I came back home after Drinking Liberally, there it was, sitting in front of my door. I eagerly picked up the box and rushed inside. It's been gone for about two weeks. The invoice said that it was the helicord that was broken. The good people in Melville fixed that up. It also listed that they ran my brand new lens through a set of auto focus tests to make sure everything was kosher.
I'm glad to have my big zoom back.
My camerabag is quite full now. It's happy. I'm happy.
