Anybody out there know of a place to get a nice pair of fabric shears in Philly? That's what my Mom has requested for Christmas. I got a pair of nice heavy shears for my grandma a couple years ago from a place back home in NY in Westchester, but I have no idea of any fabric stores here.
I'm looking for a heavy pair of those nice stainless steel ones about 8" - 10" in length. I paid $35 for the pair for my grandma.
There are several stores on Fabric Row (4th Street south of South) that will have shears like that.

Marisa is right. Any fabrice store will probably also have shearts. You can get good but not great shears at a lot of general dept stores (maybe a Target or KMart). Michaels or other craft-type stores should also have them. But for really good shears you have to go to a fabric store. A lock box to put them in might also help. My husband keeps taking my good sewing scissors and using them to cut wallpaper, posterboard, etc. Your mom might have the same or similar problems.

I'm gonna head down tonight or tomorrow after work to check it out. My Dad will keep his paws off her scissors, no worries. Plenty of other cutting implements to use around the house.
