So Saturday, I got up at the butt crack of dawn and headed up to Laurel Hill Cemetery to meet up with a bunch of friends and fellow Philly area photobloggers. Among them were Tony - his shots; Jorj - his shots start here; Alec - one of his shots; Geoffrey - his shots start here; Nancy - one shot here; Robin [no shots posted yet anywhere]; and John - his shots start here.
My initial edit of sixty-one out of the 200+ I took up here in a flickr set.
I had a wonderful time with everyone quietly snapping their shutters and soaking in all the tranquility. We headed to the Manayunk Diner down the street and we waited around for over half an hour to no avail. We disbanded and Tony was not only kind enough to give me a ride back to Center City, but he even brought along Walker Evans: The Hungry Eye [the hardcover version] which I currently have out from the library. Now, I can return the book and slowly peruse his version without worrying about constantly renewing it online. I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it to any aspiring street photographer or anyone looking for any photographic inspiration, you don't need to be a street photog to appreciate his art.
mmmmm, Diiiinnnnneeeerrrrrrrrrr....

As always... love your photos. Laurel Hill is such a beautiful cemetery. Another great cemetery is Rose Hill in Macon Ga. There's not much reason to go to Macon, but if you ever do end up there...you should definitely check it out. You could always tell people you went there just to see Greg Allman's grave. It will give you rock-n-roll street cred. Ha!
I just ordered a new camera...so I'm hoping to be able to take better photos of this great city.... SOOOOO Excited. I just had to share the joy.
