That's the old school cash register that was behind me all the way at the end of the bar at Saturday's Blogger Meetup at Fergie's. First off, let me say that that I was pleasantly surprised that Fergie's now carries Nodding Head's Grog, my favorite microbrew I've had from the Philadelphia area.
Luna baked a batch of snickerdoodles, yummy yummy cookies. Becky showed up a little later bearing a batch of chocolate chunk gingersnaps which were wonderful [so were the snickerdoodles!]. At one point, I had the tupperware container of snaps and the bag of doodles in my lap. I think Luna snapped a shot of me with them. I think I had about five of each to go along with my Grog.
Scott was there Moleskine in pocket - he hadn't lost it on the way to the bar. Star was sitting next to Scott in the corner along with another Phillyist member Mike, a food writer for the site. Two of their friends showed up late Tim and Anji I think her name was. They didn't speak much with the rest of the gang and the four of them left together never to be seen again!
Also in the group was Marisa who had to leave for a wedding at the Lowes Hotel. Next to her was Ben - another photoblogger! He showed up with this Canon Digital Rebel with him, shots can be seen here.
There were two non-bloggers [the horror!] there, Russ and Lyn. They were curious about blogging and thinking about starting their own [ah, better]. They were actually there for advice from the rest of us. Russ was even taking down some notes on some pointers from the gang. I'm curious to see what they come up with after actually talking/researching blogs a little before diving into it.
Melissa and Chris got there a little late, as is their style says Melissa.
Last and least [as far as conversationalist goes] is some guy named Neo who claimed to have a high and mighty blog. He wasn't very interested in talking and left pretty quickly after seeing that Karl wasn't in the house.
Notably missing from the shindig were Howard who got caught up last minute, Seth and Tulin. There's always next time. Tons of new faces this time and last time I was there a couple months back. I hope for more new faces and more old faces next time!
Hey, always nice to read another person's perspective on the meetup. You did a much better job on the names than I did. Of course, if I'd shown up for the intros, that might not have been a problem. :) Good to see you again!
