So it looks like we may have to end up renting a car for the weekend to get to/fro my sister's wedding. Ugh. I'm searching for the cheapest deal and so far, I've found Hertz's $33.29 for a lovely Ford Focus [or similar] with unlimited free miles. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the extra insurance stuff, just in case. An extra $20 is waaay better than $15,000 if shit happens.
Anyone out there have any good/bad experiences with car rentals? We'll be driving up to Northern NJ to stay, Long Island for the wedding and back to Philly on Sunday morning to get the car back by Noon to avoid an extra day charge.
I think one of my credit cards may have a deal with Hertz. Gotta see if I have that stupid cupon thingie they send me every month with my statement.
We rented a full size car from priceline.com for $15 a day a few weekends back. The car was nice - and with insurance, I think it all was under $25.

I absolutely, positively, unequivocally hated my AVIS rental back in '02. If anything turned me against the Ford Taurus, it was that damned rental. I was counting the seconds between each streetlight on Roosevelt Blvd, going back and forth between Knights Road and 61st & Media Streets. They seemed like hours...
Enterprise, though, was superb! A silver Dodge Intrepid that made me stop missing my Maxima...that was a sweet car.
