If you're in town tonight, you gotta stop by Independence Mall between 5p - 7p for the Rally for Peace. Cindy Sheehan and other members of the Gold Star Families for Peace will be there. Unfortunately, I'll be missing the event.
I'm headed back to NY for my Grandma's birthday. It always pops up out of nowhere. She celebrates birthdays according to the lunar calendar so it's literally hopping around by a little bit each year. I'm headed up tonight for my first peak-hour ride on the R7, an extra buck or so I think. Then to NJT in Trenton into Penn Station. Then cross town to Grand Central to hop on Metro North [NY's version of Regional Rail] to Westchester to see my Grandma. A long trip after a long day, but my Grandma's worth it, she rocks. I believe she turns 94. She still keeps her own garden at my uncle/aunt's house and takes walks.
I'll also get a chance to see at least one of my not so little anymore twin cousins who started college last year at Columbia and Dartmouth, what a bunch of show-offs. I remember them beating the shit out of each other when they were little ones because they hated each other - über sibling rivalry, I guess that's why that zygote spit [I think it's the zygote].
I'll also see my buddy Ms. B before she embarks on a year-long journey in Oceana/Asia. Oh man am I jealous.
