I've had the same watch since 1998. It died earlier this year. When exactly, I have no idea. I'd say upwards of six months ago. The backlight had been fading for several months, flickering and then finally, not working at all. I knew that the battery was going to go kaput soon. And then it did. I had to get a new battery, I knew it. But where to go? I knew of Jeweler's Row, but I never got my lazy ass over there. I'm not big on jewelery so I don't really notice the watch/jewelery stores when I walk by them aside from the overly obvious Tiffany's. You really can't miss that one, not even if you try.
So, I finally got it fixed. And what a beauty it is. I love this watch. My brother and then fiancée [now wife] got it for me for Christmas. I remember opening up the yellow case and seeing the watch. My eyes lit up. My eyes lit up again as the jeweler handed back my watch, wound to the correct time and everything! He stuck in a new water seal as well, for all those times I go SCUBA diving in the Carribean of course. Not having this watch was the only thing holding me back from doing so. And that extra $1000 or so. Arg.
Good to have you back blue-faced watch. Good to have you back.
