Building/updating my previous post on Politics 101 tonight at Tangier... The event is not being endorsed by Tangier nor Jack and there will not be free wings there. I have no idea how that info got onto the flyer that I was forwarded [and subsequently posted here {and edited above}].
That said, this will be a great opportunity for locals to learn a little more about the ins and outs of the local political scene here in Philly. I haven't made it out to a Neighborhood Networks meeting since its inception earlier this summer, but I'm eager to get involved. I think there will be plenty of overlap with its members and the various other Progressive, Liberal and Democratic groups around town, but I'm also sure that there will be new faces that I'm looking forward to meeting.
Don't get angry at our servers, the bartender, the rest of the staff nor Jack for not giving us what they never promised. This information comes to me directly from our wonderful DL server Catherine and Jack, the owner of Tangier.
For some free wings and $1 off drinks, head on over to Tangier tomorrow night for Drinking Liberally, with an emphasis on the Drinking part!
guess that thing about enthusiastic participation in the democratic process will have to suffice. those wings still taste good when you pay for them, though, much like the beer.
and Catherine rocks.

I never figured it wa Tangier, just some enthusiastic planner chipping in a few bucks. but either way, enthusiasm trumps free food anytime. sorry to miss it, and had *no* idea you were in on the planning...
(p.s.) Your FlickR Zeitgeist thing seems to be semi-crashing the comments function, since it hijacks all the available "thought" of my computer...

Well, there was free wings afterall! I wasn't in on the planning of it, I was just forwarded a flyer and I've gotten to know Catherine, our server for Drinking Liberally, and she saw the flyer on my blog. I'm just helping to spread the word.
And I was mulling taking off the flickr thingie. I was waiting until one person complained and that was that, I was growing tired of it as well. So, it is gone. There's still a link to my Flickr page in the first set of links on the left pane though.
