8.29 - I just dialed into the conference call with Joe Hoeffel. I'll be updating this bad boy live throughout the call. I got about eleven questions I'd like to ask Joe. Let's see how many I get to ask.
Also in on the call:
- Dan from Young Philly Politics
- Ray from Young Philly Politics
- Jane from Above Average Jane
- Maria from 2 Politcal Junkies from Pittsburgh
- Hilary from Hoeffel's team and @DVOCACY INC
- Joe from Hoeffel and Friends
- Nobably absent: you.
Now for the live part, please forgive me if I get some names wrong and of course, I'm paraphrasing. If I missquote you, I'm sorry, this is going quickly. Let me know and I'll correct it.
8.38 - Joe introduces his blog and what he wants out of it.
8.42 - Jane: How can we get access to voting records of our Reps and Senators easily. The links that are out there are currently dynamic and impossible to keep up to date via links on a blog.
Joe: Has no more access than we do to records.
8.46 - Dan: How often will you be writing on the blog
Joe: Several times a week, now that he no longer has a campaign staff underneath him, he'll be very involved first hand.
8.50 - Ray: Will this be used to highlight electoral campaigns
Joe: He's a progressive and wants to support progressive candidates.
8.57 - It's over
That was shitty not what I was looking for. Of course my words do not represent everyone who was present, nor do they represent Hilary and Joe's expectations. I hope that everyone else was happy with their participation. I guess I just wanted more, as per usual.
I think I was going into this hoping that I'd get to spout off some questions on his current politics, but it was more strictly about the site and what he wants it to be about. I held my tongue; I didn't want to engage in a dialogue [that I was prepared to go into] that was not intended to be brought up at this juncture.
I wonder who they invited and how they decided to invite the people they did invite. Did they just look at the article in the Inky about the Seth Williams bloggers and add a name here and there?
I was invited as well, but I figured it would be one of those deals where you and 40,000 other people call in and listen to a pitch of one sort or another. Wrong again. Oh well.

I was invited too. Just couldn't make the call. Damn.
