I haven't been a big reader for the past ten years or so. Why? I hate [for the most part] the books I had to read for school. I was never a very fast reader so I couldn't read for pleasure while in school and when the summers came, I didn't want to be inside reading, I wanted to be outside running around, playing soccer.
But now, I read more. Mostly newspapers and magazines. I picked up a paperback at the library a few months ago of The Godfather. The film is one of my favorites. Always has since I first saw it. Now I own the box set and watch it every once in awhile and whenever it's on TV. I just got around to finally cracking it open.
People have told me that the book is way better. So far so good. It's cool to read all of what's going on in the minds of these characters I've seen on the screen portrayed by actors over and over again. Little differences here and there, but so far the film has stayed pretty true to the book which is always nice to see. Whenever I read lines for Don Corleone, I always read it in Marlon Brando's voice which is fun for me.
Reading is fundamental.
