Yet another food related event this week. This Saturday is the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival and the DN has a write up about the history of the event - this is the 10th Anniversary - and what's going on this year.
This year the festival, which typically draws up to 50,000 people, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and expects to be larger than ever, with a new chefs' demonstration tent, free wine and liquor samples and food tastings - priced from $3.50 to $8 - from more than four dozen restaurants.Did you read that? FREE WINE SAMPLINGS. Get loaded and then get some good grub folks. I'll be there, then I'll head over to play some ultimate frisbee. Let's see how that combo works.
Rain or shine, it's a great place to bring mom for a Mother's Day weekend celebration between noon and 5 p.m
...
And for the first time, at 15th and Walnut, two vineyards will offer free wine samplings, while at 16th and Walnut, samples of Vox Vodka, Starbucks Coffee Liqueur and DeKuyper Cordials (the yummy syrup mixes for melon martinis) will be available.
***UPDATE*** 5.8.05
Well, I didn't find the free wine sampling station. Arg. I walked around for about an hour or so between 3 and 4p. It was still pretty crowded. Pictures to come.
