Vegas Google Map

I saw this Google Map here and I had to take a look for myself. It's pretty insane. It's a Nevada bomb test site. Click on the photo above and pan back a bit. Scroll around a bit.

my main question is: why is that section of the map all brown, while everything else around it is green?

that's a lot of bombs.

i have absolutelyno idea. there are some other patches of brown on the google map as well. i wonder...
