Saturday's ultimate frisbee gathering was great. I think almost 20 people showed up between 3p and 6p. We had a steady game of 7 v. 7 which grew to 8 v. 8 for a stretch. We're on for next Saturday as well, so if you'd like to join us, please let me know and I'll point you towards our email list.
We did have a couple of injuries though, which is bound to happen in sports. Betsy jammed her finger [she felt much better later on], Adam ran into a sapling in one of the endzones [he was fine and so was the tree], but Jason got banged up a bit more than we're used to. He had to go to the ER and was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his wrist after tumbling out of bounds into a wall. We went all of last season without any major injuries, but this season started out a little rough.
Sunday is soccer day. Matt at Tattered Coat put me in contact with his fútbol buddies who play over in Fairmount Park by Memorial Hall. I think I'm going to pick up a new pair of boots in the morning, who are we kidding - afternoon, and take a bike ride over there to have a few touches on the ball. I haven't played much since my F.C. Westchester days in NY. Let's see how much touch I've retained. They start up around 3p 3.30p so come on out if you want to play.
And afterwards, I may go see Sin City.
Lady comes home from her long weekend in NY in the afternoon as well.
