Call me a stupid suburbanite, but I'm used to having a bowling alley nearby. It's not that I want to go bowling all the time or join a league or something. But having a nice little alley nearby to head to with some friends is a comforting venue to head to if nothing else pans out that night. Now, it seems, such a place has just opened in West Philly. I just saw the ad for Strikes Bowling Lounge in this week's PW for it. I wonder if it's gonna be a little too upscale-y like one of those "luxury" movie theaters. I hope not.
When does Philly Blogger Bowling Night start?
***UPDATE*** 11.30a
PW also has a little blurb on Strikes as well. And what did I learn from it? They serve everything from $2 PBRs to more expensive liquor and the menu ranges from salmon and steak to potato skins.
A friend described Strikes as the alley equivalent of Saved by the Bell 's the Max. Even if you don't get the reference, Strikes is still pretty awesome. The Max! That's a lot to live up to.

I second that :) This could be the idea that gets us to our first meetup :) I'll post more at Philly Future...

Hey,
I am Matt, one of the owners of Strikes Bowling Lounge. I see you are considering Strikes as the location of your big event. That sounds like a lot of fun.
Anyway - I really appreciate the great comments. You are right - The Max is something that is difficult to live up to.
Thanks,
Matt
