Why must the Inquirer declare that Governor McGreevey's "scandals will outlive feats" at this date. They list his achievements
He led the decrepit motor vehicle division out of the dark ages, repaired a failed E-ZPass system, changed the rules for auto insurers - turning a consumer-unfriendly market into a competitive one - and secured the preservation of hundreds of thousands of acres in the Highlands watershed area.Three-quarters through the article. Why not expose the inadequacies of the nation in which he governs for forcing him to keep his lifestyle a secret in order to rise to a position where he felt he could help the people of his state. Expose the fact that his hands were tied from Day One as Mayor of Woodbridge, then as an assemblyman, then as a state senator and finally Governor.
Remember Governor John Roland of Connecticut? Probably not, because his downfall was not related to being gay. He did some horrible things up there, but who cares, he's a heterosexual.
McGreevey apologized. Let it go. At least he is man enough to admit a mistake when he makes one. W can't even think of a single mistake he'd like to share with the rest of us.
