Grand Prize in Citizen Photojournalism
I mentioned back in July that I was a finalist in the Now Public's Citizen Photojournalism Awards. I had finished in the top few for the photos I submitted in the smaller weekly drawings leading up to the big announcement so I wasn't sure if I had a chance. Then a few days later, I found out that I won!
Then there were some complications/communications problems, but Friday, I received my prize, a check for $500!
Now, what to do with it!? I think I'd like to get the Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX a very nice wide angle. I've read that the Nikon 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor is a little rough and twice the price. The Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM is wider, but I read that the distortion is quite bad, even for a wide angle. So I think that's the route I will go.
