Free Meetups

I always thought that this thing would go to a pay program and now it has finally happened. Meetup.com has gone to a pay service. Here's the /. article. And here's the changes page Meetup has created outlining what has changed and why they did it.

Not like the Philly Future community really needed it, but it was nice to have. So what should we do? Just do things straight from Philly Future? Is that too much added work on top of what Karl does? Is this something one of us can manage on the site for Karl so it's one less headache?

And FYI, our next meetup is on the 20th.

seems like one possibility is to use the calendar at Philly2DC, perhaps with announcements on Philly Future too. local groups like Philly for Change that are *really* meet-up-based may need the same kind of outlet (or a higher level of commitment)...
